Who’s The Boss?
This week’s Cat Fight is a battle of the duets and the question for you to decide and vote on is, who’s the boss? Will it be LaVern Baker and Jimmy Ricks’ original version of this Leiber/Stoller tune OR Elvis & Ann-Margret’s sexy interpretation.
Plus, this week’s show features some really early Solomon Burke, a trip down to New Orleans and a new tune from the legendary Peter Wolf as well as one of Wolf’s greatest stories of all-time.
So listen, vote and dig! The Friday Night Cat Fight Radio Show is on the air!

Gotta be the king this week, and IF ONLY
Sorry; got interrupted, and would you believe my cat, Super, stepped on the “submit” button? The king almost always gets my vote when put against anyone any time, so I will admit to some strong bias this week, but great show all around! Thanks, Matt.
I am going with LaVern Baker and Jimmy Ricks’ original version, it feels better to me. These shows just keep getting better and better Matt. We can’t wait to meet you next year on the cruise.
Elvis Presley and Ann Margret cant be beat also its Viva Las Vegas !! They have the good old chemistry that you have with kelly that Brook had with Dinah that Donny has with Marie that Marvin had with Tammi ! It is the Kings best movie !! So Viva Matt The Cat because Matt Youre The Boss !! Yum Yum P.S. Thanks Long Island Bob for the Joe Tex YUM YUM song on you tube !!
It’s funny, the last two times Elvis has been in the FNCF, I’ve voted for him happily and then commented here that I’m not usually an Elvis fan, but… But this time, no, I thought he was too laid back for lyrics that demand more emotional investment than he paid in. I thought Ann-Margaret outsang him on their duet! (Yikes.) This time it was an easy vote for LaVern and Jimmy for me, who like Ann-Margaret, definitely Got It.
Gotta go with Laverne and Jimmy on this one. Elvis and Ann had a great rendition, but Jimmy Rick’s voice pushes it over the top for me. If he sang the phone book I’d gladly listen to the whole thing. Guess this qualifies as a totally bias vote on my part.
Man, LaVern just sounds sooo good on there, her and Jimmy get my vote this week.
Both versions are great! Laverne and Jimmy
have just got the edge by the slimmest of
margins. You R the mostest host like a most
succulent roast . Yes indeedee!
