The trashmen get my vote this week, I love that tune. Another great show Matt.

Totally SUPER AWESOME SURFIN’ SONGS! I liked this stuff better than summer songs, doo-wopp songs (even the rare ones, though I learned a lot), and always better than the bluesy stuff. One of the best cat fights I’ve heard, and I’ve been in on it from the beginning. Can’t wait for the surfin’ instrumentals. Thanks.

I gotta vote for the Trashmen, because, I hate to admit it, of “Family Guy.” But The Ramones rock it very well indeed…

The Ramones may be punk rock but they have a long way to go before they’re as ‘gnarly’ as the Trash Men.

Gotta love that W-I-D-E stereo on “Ride The Wild Surf”. Anyone know if that movie ever made it home video?
I’d have also included The Turtles’ “Surfer Dan”. Yes, it was late 60’s, and done tongue-in-cheek, but still a cool tune.
I was shocked that at the time I voted, The Ramones had 3 votes. For my money, they could have left their version in the can. CC Kelly, my wife said the song reminds her of “Family Guy” now too, so you aren’t alone.

    Yo Furry leader
That was a cool show. I can’t wait for the instrumentals though. I kind of wished you’d have played, Surfin Hootennanny by, the Al Casey Combo, though. As far as the cat fight goes, this is a no brainer. The Ramones version was sooo lame. It didn’t even have a surf feel to the instrumentation, and no feeling to the vocals. Ttrashmen are the definitive version of this tune, although I did like the 2 Rivingtons songs it was taken from.
Thanks for the great shows, Can’t wait for next week’s surf instrumentals.
    Keep on Prowlin

Awesome show as always! The Honeys, The Fantastic Baggys, The Tradewinds…just great! Can’t wait for next week’s instrumental show! How about a “Hot Rod Music” show one day? Everything from rockabilly to country to west coast tunes there. Cat fight between “Bucket T” by Ronnie and the Daytonas, Jan and Dean, and the Who perhaps?
Gotta agre with timevac3 about “Surfer Dan” by the Turtles. Maybe tounge-in-cheek…maybe not since they were originally a surf band called the Crossfires.
Keep up the great work. Miss you on XM and am still giving them a hard time about letting you go.

    Great choices…

Pipeline and Missalou are right up there but I had to go with the original…Walk don’t Run by the Ventures.

The Ventures were the number one selling album group for many years.

Then came Bob Dylan, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones
