Train Songs
Part 3
Here is the third and final show dedicated to the theme of “train songs”. This week’s show features tunes by James Carr, Gladys Knight & The Pips and Leadbelly. It is also your chance to vote for your favorite version of the classic “Night Train.” So dig the show, vote and don’t miss that train, baby!

Thanks for these train shows, Matt. I really enjoyed them a lot. Great mix of stuff. On the FNCF this week, all three versions were great. It’s kind of a bullet-proof song. But my favorite this week was Jimmy Forrest’s, not because he was first, but because the spare production, the slower tempo, and the nail-it-to-the-wall tenor sax work was hottest for me. Odd, cause I usually like a more layered production and more uptempo versions, but for this song, I think Jimmy captured it best by a hair. Can’t go wrong with any of these, though.
Thanks again Matt this train series is wonderful. I have been sharing it with friends and converting a few new comers to our group of listeners.
Can’t wait for the summer songs and for summer itself. I enjoy traveling by train and hearing most train songs, but think the summer group will be even better. Wish you could make your weekly FNCF shows as long as you would have done the Internet night prowls, had the funds been available. I’m so glad we prowlers can still enjoy your great skill and personality. How about letting CCK say hi to us some time?
Matt i was going to fly this summer to Las Vegas but after three weeks of train songs im calling Amtrac and taking the train ! The three weeks of Train songs was one of your better themes and it made me remember when i did your Night Prowl show Oct .2005 and took the Acela Express to D.C. to make my radio debut !! Take these Trains from my heart and let me go !! Yum Yum
