“I’m gonna get up in the morning and I believe I’ll dust my broom”
Robert Johnson may have said it first, but it’s Elmore James’ 1951 recording of “Dust My Broom” on Trumpet Records that will live forever as the definitive version. Few people have said more with such few lines.
This week on HARLEM…
The story, the legacy of the great
ELMORE JAMES
Harlem airs on the 50s on 5:
Monday 2/20 @ 1pm EST
Tuesday 2/21 @ 9pm PST – Midnight EST
Friday 2/24 @ 6pm EST
Sunday 2/26 @ 11am EST
Hey Cats n’ Kittens,
Yes I know, another vacation. This will be my last one for a good period of time. I’ll be away from the satellite from February 18th to February 26th. I’ll be back on the air LIVE with a new Night Prowl Show on Monday, February 27th.
I’ll be in Monterey, CA seeing how the other side lives for a little while. Maybe I’ll have some pictures to share when I get back. Harlem will feature Elmore James while I’m gone, so that should give you a good R&B; fix.
Even when your furry leader is off the air, you’ve got to keep on prowlin’, Night Prowlers.
Soulfully,
Matt The Cat

Instrumental Thursday RETURNS!
You’ll dig in on some of the coolest sounds that are guarenteed to leave you “speechless”. There are “no words” to describe these amazing instrumental sounds. Dig some B. Bumble & The Stingers, The Ventures, The Wailers, The Royaltones, Link Wray, Dick Dale, Duane Eddy and of course they’ll be many songs you’ve never heard before.
